Google bans repeated bilingual and transliterated names on Business Profiles
Google has added a line to its Business Profile name guidelines that disallows repeating the same business name in more than one script or language. Examples Google gives of what is no longer acceptable include “Kafiex / カフィエクス” and “Burger King バーガーキング”. The prohibition applies even when the dual-script name is the one shown on physical shopfront signage, which had been the usual justification for listing it. A name written in a single script is still fine.
For businesses in multilingual or multi-script regions, this is a concrete compliance change rather than a suggestion. If your profile currently carries a transliterated or bilingual name of the same business, edit it down to one script now: leaving the repeated version in place is the kind of name violation that can trigger a profile suspension, and a suspension is far more costly to resolve than a pre-emptive edit. Where you genuinely operate under two distinct names, that is a different case from the same name transliterated twice, which is what this rule targets.
